Iceland

Jeff and I chose to have a long layover in Iceland so that we could do some exploring. We went to the Blue Lagoon, which is only a 20 minute shuttle ride from the airport, and got to soak for a couple of hours.

This is what most of Iceland looks like (or, at least the part we were in): volcanic rock with moss growing on it. It felt like we were on another planet!

The clouds parted and we were able to briefly see Greenland! That is so much snow and ice...

I'm glad we got to do a relaxing thing for our last sliver of vacation! Because getting home from JFK was not relaxing. Even AFTER waiting in line to get through customs, it STILL took 45 minutes for our luggage to come out! Then it takes us just under 2 hours to take public transportation home, so we were dead tired.

Going to Europe was an awesome experience, and I'm so glad that we were able to go with Jeff's family. I really appreciate them inviting us, and a big thank you to Rhonda and Allison for planning such an awesome trip! And a HUGE thank you to my parents and Sheri for watching Axel!
