Utah trip in October to Film "The Sweater"

Jeff needed to go to Utah to direct his short film, "The Sweater," and it happened to fall over his 40th birthday and the kids' Fall Break, so we made a vacation out of it! We stayed at Nana and Papa's house.

We ran into my sister-in-law's brother and 2 of his kids at a gas station in Elko! So random!

Stopping at our favorite park in Sparks, NV, to eat our Jimmy John's sandwiches, and Jeff found an ingenious way to feed Ivy, haha.

Ivy was so excited to play with "Nana's toys," as the boys call them.

A double rainbow!

We visited cousins for a day.

Renee and Ivy.

Adeline got to open her birthday presents from me early. She was very excited about the outfit I made her!

Playing chess.

Felix and Abram wrestling.

Renee and Samuel were so cute with Ivy.

Aunt Julie came over also.

Aunt Julie got the boys coordinating outfits.

And matching dresses for the girls. Two of them wouldn't cooperate without their mommy's holding them, so we took a girls picture.

Jeff's niece Caroline was born in Arizona while we were visiting Utah. She was born 13 weeks early, so she has to stay in the NICU for a while. She was only 2.5 pounds at birth but had lots of hair!

Olivia visiting Caroline for the first time post-c-section.

Felix talking to GG.

We had dinner at Jenny's one night, and Ivy enjoyed playing with Great-Grandma R.

We hardly saw Jeff the whole time we were there, since he was busy directing and filming. So the kids were always excited to see him.

Felix is in that blanket that Kaden and Emma are holding.

Messy blueberry pancakes.

We went to Cornbelly's one afternoon/evening. It was really awesome! I had no idea there was so much to do!

Watching a pig race.

It was Daddy's birthday that day, and he was done filming early enough to meet us at Cornbelly's for a little bit.

Huge pit of corn. I did find quite a bit of corn in their clothes later, despite our best efforts. The kids had a blast though!

Wearing mommy's socks. She put them on herself!

We went to the zoo with Nana and a couple of Axel's friends.

Jett, Axel, Drake, Felix, and Ivy.

Ivy loved watching this Cloud Cat.

Felix playing nerf war very dramatically.

Unfortunately Felix had a puke day while we were there. I handed Ivy off to Nana and stayed with Felix the rest of the day. Luckily he was better the next day.

Playing a new game with Daddy.

The boys' TKD coach needed some headshots, so I took these and sent them in. I may be biased, but my boys are so cute!

Making ghosts with Nana. Felix was not interested in getting his hands dirty, so he supervised from afar.

Ivy wearing Mommy's hoodie.

And later at a restaurant wearing Mommy's hoodie too.

Playing a game with Kaden.

Felix loves to hang out with Alex.

One day, we were able to go visit Daddy at the studio. It was so cool to see him direct, and to see how filming at a studio works!

Jeff holding Ivy. She kept yelling "Dada!" during filming, so I had to take her into the green room. Nana and Papa took the little kids back home, and Axel and I stayed for a couple more hours.

They let Axel try out the focus on the camera.

Talking to Kirby Heyborne, the actor in "The Sweater" (and in a bunch of LDS movies, like "The Best Two Years" and "Singles Ward" and "The R.M.")

I stole a bunch of photos from the crew. It was so cool to see Jeff show up on other people's Instagram posts!

Jeff's not in this one, he took it, but I love how cool it looks. They had to notify the fire department that they would be using a fog machine up in the mountains, so they wouldn't think it was a fire.

Such a gorgeous location.

My old coworker Jared worked on the project. I didn't realize it until I saw his Instagram posts. Neither he or Jeff had put two and two together that they knew each other, haha!

We had a great time in Utah. I'm glad that I had help with the kids while Jeff was so busy. I am also so happy that Jeff got to spend his 40th birthday doing what he wants to do: direct! I'll post a link to "The Sweater" once it is all finished!
