August 2023 (Soccer and Adenoids out)

Axel started soccer. He had 2 practices a week and then games on Saturdays. It kept us so busy!

Trying to keep Ivy entertained during practice, and she scattered our stuff everywhere.

Axel played goalie the first time. He did pretty well, but didn't want to do it again.

The next week, Gramma was able to come watch the game. Axel got the ball a couple of times.

It was so hot, so Gramma treated us to ice cream after.

Ivy has taken to stealing my clothes while I shower, and wearing them like shawls.

Ivy joining in with the boys' exercises.

Axel's letter to me at Parent Open House. I especially like the "everything is working out" part.

Ivy's new favorite spot to sit.

These two playing nicely together.

Ivy found Felix's slippers and wore them constantly for a few weeks. She also has onion goggles.

Axel joined 5th grade band and chose the trombone.

Ivy is not a fan of the trombone.

A new favorite place to crawl into.

Felix made an "About Me" poster for Kindergarten. He did a great job! (with some help of course)

Our pantry door doesn't latch anymore, thanks to the house settling, and Ivy figured out how to help herself to snacks. Grampa came to the rescue and fixed the door for us!

Our good friends moved away and it was really heartbreaking. They had a big get together before they left. They were so loved by all!

Me and my friend Ashlee (who luckily is not moving away)

Axel misses David (in the middle) so much!

Mike (our friend) and a couple of his favorite babies at church.

Axel was invited to a birthday party at Boomers. Jeff and Felix went to, since it was a 45 minute drive, and did their own thing while the birthday party was going on. Everyone had a great time!

The school had an afterschool game day. The kids played cornhole for forever.

Why is the blacktop so filthy?

Seriously, how!

What Axel looked like after playing basketball during recess. I told him he'd need to wash his hands after basketball from now on, haha.

Playing Kerplunk with Gramma.

Its so nice in the morning, so Ivy and I have been eating breakfast outside. This particular morning she looked like a hot mess in her "wife beater" undershirt and yogurt all over her fae.

Ivy looks like such a big kid at the park now! A toddler, not a baby!

Why did my hair grow in like this after I had Ivy! It is so weird! The underlayer is soooo wavy! But only in the back.

I started compiling the pieces for their halloween costumes. Axel's muscle suit is a favorite.

Ivy looks like a roasted chicken, haha.

Ivy playing with some toys. So cute!

Game night at the church. Felix trying to eat a donut off a string.

I was called as Primary President of our ward. The kids "heart attacked" me during singing time. I had a meeting with the Stake Primary President looking like this, haha.

Felix put one on my butt. Thanks kid!

Felix's booster seat was sitting in the hallway, and Ivy decided to sit in it and it fell backward. She was totally unbothered and kept sitting there.

Felix had to get his adenoids removed. We put him in our room the night before since we had to leave so early in the morning. He had a hard time staying on the mattress. Its a wonder he doesn't fall out of bed every night!

All ready for the surgery!

They had a weird rule that only one parent could accompany them before the surgery, but then a second one could come in after the surgery. Seems weird to me, but maybe its so that only one parent had to gown up?

Trying to wake him up. He was so groggy.

He enjoyed his otter pop.

Grampa had spent the night so he could watch Axel and Ivy for us. They had a great time.

Felix slept in our room again that night, just in case he had a weird reaction to the anesthesia. Again, he couldn't stay on the mattress.

I had arranged to get Felix's work ahead of time, so we could do it while he recuperated. He made this cute monkey puppet as part of that.

Axel decided to run for Student Body President, and this was an option we took for his picture for that. We decided to go with last years' school picture instead. But this picture still turned out cute.

This year's school picture unfortunately did not turn out well. I had him retake it later.

Felix's turned out ok.

Ivy fell asleep randomly a bunch of times this month. Usually she only sleeps in her crib or carseat.

August sewing projects.

This is for my sister-in-law Alicia for her birthday. I love how it turned out!

Got a head-start on sewing for the November birthdays. These are rainbow leggings for my niece Adeline.
The front are bright/warm colors.

And the back are the cool colors.

Another outfit for soon-to-be-born nephew. The print is Dumbo.
