September 2020

Axel's first day of Second Grade. Utah had in person school despite the pandemic, and I am so glad!  He has been having a great year.

Masks required, of course!

Haha our neighborhood fills up half the bus. Lots of kids!

Dressing up for adventure like big brother does!

Felix loves the marble track. He will play for hours a day.

On our trip to Sun Valley, Felix learned how to climb out of the crib. Here it is on camera, once we got home.

We were forced to switch him to a toddler bed. Unfortunately, he doesn't stay in bed.

Stole Mommy's sunglasses for a walk.

Felix and I trying out some new masks.

Mini golfing on a hot day.

Axel being a good garden helper.

And a helpful big brother!

I had a birthday.

Jeff got me a bike!

I hadn't ridden in a while, hence my timidity. And the squealing is Felix, not me, FYI.

On my actual birthday, we headed to a family reunion of sorts with Nana's family in Capitol Reef National Park.

My birthday cake.

Day 1
There are the coolest rock formations there.

Ranae, Axel, and Alex

Uncle Rob and 3 of his daughters (McKell, Anna, and Kayli, sorry if I spelled your names wrong!), with Ranae, Alex, Axel and me

Axel and I (with Oliver and McKell in there too)

What a view!

The big reward of the hike was this awesome arch!

Felix enjoyed being out of the carrier, but I was worried he would wander off a cliff and therefore wouldn't let go of him. That's probably why he is giving me the side-eye.

Axel scrambled all over the rocks.

Axel and Felix jumping over a big crack.

Back row: Gary, Robert, Ethan, Alex, Matthew, Daddy and Felix, Gary S, Kayli
Middle row: Rhonda, Mommy, Collin, Ranae, Grandma R, Jenny, Nick, Anna
Front row: Oliver, Axel, McKell, Ava
Taking the picture: Anjie
Back at the car: Grandpa R
Phew, I think I got everyone!

Felix resting before we got back in the car. It was so hot and we had run out of water by the end of the hike (except for some of Felix's, as you can see).

Then we drove to an area that had the old schoolhouse.

Then we walked along a boardwalk that showed tons of petroglyphs. Can you see them?

Felix all bathed and ready for bed!

Day 2
Donut-on-the-go the next morning.

More cool rock formations.

Axel is getting pretty good at climbing (with help). He is so proud of himself!

We hiked to another big arch.

Anjie helped Axel climb all the way up there!

Capitol Reef National Park is a really cool place to visit, and it wasn't crowded at all! Except a couple of the parking lots. And one parking lot was like off-roading to get there, which didn't feel so great in our van. But we made it and it was fun!
