Visitors!

Nana and Papa brought Grandma and Grandpa R out to visit us!

Eating hot dogs in Battery Park.

On the ferry to the Statue of Liberty.

Axel loved the audio tour. The rest of us, not so much. I will definitely skip it next time (so boring!).

Axel with the original torch.

Copy of her face.

Windy while waiting for the ferry to Ellis Island.

Felix and immigrant babies.

Peekaboo at Ellis Island.

On the ferry back. (Notice Axel's shirt, chosen carefully by him when getting dressed that morning)

Axel looking like a true New Yorker.

Visiting Alexander Hamilton.

Felix was so chill all day. Thank goodness, since he was in his stroller most of the time.

Delicious food from "Eatily" for dinner.

Then we visited the 9/11 Memorial.

Sunday group picture at church.

After church we drove to Sleepy Hollow Cemetery to walk around.

Felix has the cutest smile, if you can catch him without his thumb in his mouth!

I liked this picture of me being an over-cautious mom, trying to keep Axel from falling into the river as we looked for tadpoles.

Jeff ruining the picture by intentionally "sasquatching."

That's better.

The boys with their Papa.

Then we walked along the Hudson River.

Grandpa had an App that could tell you the name of the plant you were looking at. Axel loved it.

We had a great visit and are so glad that Grandma and Grandpa were able to come and see our "neck of the woods." We love you!

First Day of First Grade

Axel started First Grade!

When he got home, he declared, "This was the best day of school EVER!"

Went up to the Kensico Dam on Labor Day. It started raining really suddenly and we had to make a run for the car!

Felix learning new tricks, ugh.

Learning how to use a spoon.

Daddy and Felix love playing together!

Got out of his baby gate again (this time while I was switching the laundry). He is so sneaky!

Late August

Funny kid!

Fun afternoon at the park.

Felix loved the slide.

Nutella face.

We got to go to the zoo with friends.

Axel's new bed! And he finally gets to use the quilt Nana made him.

He looks like such a big boy. Waiting for our turn at Physical Therapy.

If you have tried to play Nintendo with Axel, you know that he jumps up and down and gets in your way (and accidentally stomps on his brother), so this was Jeff's solution.

This raccoon casualty strolled by while Axel and I weeded in the backyard.

How, child? How?

I had to document his adorable curls.

His funny new way of crawling!

He managed to get a dirty pair of Axel's underwear on his head! It was hilarious, except that he tried to crawl but couldn't see and hurt himself (hence the crying).

We went on a walk along the Hudson River.

Tired, cuddly boy.
