Sharing a room and starting to crawl

The boys are now officially sharing a room! Alex is living with us for the summer so we reorganized the bedrooms to make it work.

Axel was LESS than excited about it at first. He handed me this drawing BEFORE they even tried sleeping together.  It says, "I'm sad because I can't fall asleep because Felix is crying." It actually has gone really well!

I have caught them having sweet moments several mornings. Axel is such a sweetheart! Here he has given Felix a stuffed animal and is reading him a book.

Is it ok to cry over spilled milk? Ugh.

Felix is obsessed with doors.

Felix's desperate face from trying to get at the Sorry gameboard. He was relentless!

Papa was here for a few days to drop Alex off. Here we are heading to lunch. Felix makes such a cute dinosaur.

Catch is funny.

This kid won 6 out of 7 Uno games.

Victory dance!

Felix officially can crawl! Yay!

I'm kind of biased, but my boys are the most beautiful kids.

At lunch with friends, Lewis and Felix found each other to be hilarious!

Axel's "Big Play" of 2019.

Felix thinks that anything Axel does is funny.

"V is for Veterinarian" for Alphabet Day at school.

More laughing!

Axel likes Felix after all.

It has been a fun couple of weeks with Alex here, and the boys getting along with sharing a room. Felix is so giggly and I love it!

Memorial Day Trip to Boston

We took a vacation for Memorial Day Weekend.

First stop: The Breakers mansion in Newport, Rhode Island. Built by the Vanderbilt family in 1895.

They offered a kids version of the audio tour, and Axel loved it!

Beautiful view of the ocean.

Hanging out on the beautiful lawn, letting Felix get some wiggles out. He wasn't as impressed with the house as the rest of us were (ie he was fussy).

Felix and I are super good at selfies.

Then we drove to Plymouth, Massachusetts.

Plymouth Rock

Women and Children's Memorial. Out of the 102 original passengers, only 50 survived the first winter, and only 4 of the women and children survived the first year.

The Cabbyshack had the most delicious clam chowder.

Then we played in the pool at the hotel for a bit.

Then next morning we left early for Boston. Our first stop was the USS Constitution (aka "Old Ironsides" from the war of 1812).

Bonus picture below: me pregnant with Axel when Jeff and I visited Boston in 2012!

Note Felix's excited face (not!). This kiddo was a little grump. But luckily he can't run away yet!

Checking out the sailors' hammocks at the museum.

Then we went on the USS Cassin Young, a WWII destroyer, bombed by 2 kamikaze planes at Pearl Harbor.

Felix thankfully took a nap.

A beautiful view of downtown Boston.

Bunker Hill Monument.

The we went to the Boston Art Museum for the rest of the day.

"In The Loge" by Mary Cassatt.

The next morning we went to church, then drove 20 minutes to the Boston Temple.

Felix wasn't enjoying the bright sun.

Cute brothers!

Then we did the Freedom Trail! We started at Boston Commons.

Another bonus picture from 2012. A lot has changed!

Graves of the Boston Massacre victims.

Inside Faneuil Hall.

Outside Quincy Market. We (along with all the other tourists) got ice cream because it was quite hot and humid this day!

Old State House.

A bell Paul Revere made at his foundry.

Paul Revere statue.

Swimming at the hotel!

 Felix turned 11 months old!

I noticed this awesome sign as we were leaving the hotel. What is a squeltch?

We stopped at a grocery store on our way to our friend's farm, and there was a robot! It had a sign on it that said it could detect spills... I'm not sure why that is more efficient than a human?

Our friend from church invited a bunch of people out to her "farm" in Massachusetts for a belated Easter Egg Hunt. The original date had been rained out.

Lunch picnic.

Easter Egg Hunt!

We had such a wonderful long weekend together. It was the perfect trip!
