Julie's Visit

My aunt Julie was able to hang out with us for a few days on her way back from England. She took lots of pictures, so I pilfered some from her Facebook page.

She brought Axel some Lego playing cards, and he made up all sorts of games to play with them.

We went to the park. It was soooo hot so we mostly stayed in the shade and drew with chalk. This is my rendition of Julie that Axel finished for me.

Being sappy with my chalk art.

We went down to the City for a day. We found this cool chime thing in Battery Park.

At the 9/11 memorial

We ate Shake Shack, of course.

In the cemetery of Trinity Church.

We took the Staten Island Ferry (its free!) to ride past the Statue of Liberty and back.

The ferry is set up in such a way that only the fastest runners could make the transition from the ferry arriving and the ferry leaving, so we got to hang out at the Staten Island Terminal for 30 minutes.

Playing in the Battery Park spash pad.

We drove to Fort Montgomery

Didn't expect him to really fire that rifle, but he did!

Axel was less than excited about the sudden loud noise. But he didn't cry or run away. He just wanted his mama.

 Coloring time!

"My precious"

And we couldn't let Julie go without some New York pizza! We went to our favorite place, Pepe's.

We are so glad that Julie was able to stop by and hang out with us! We'll even forgive her for passing along her cold...
