Margot is here! Also, Christmas!

On December 20th I had my 40 week OB appointment. I was already 3 days overdue at that point. I had been going on long walks uphill every day to try to get things started. Finally, I started having slight contractions around 2pm that day. My mom had already come to stay at the house since my due date on the 17th. Things didn't really start moving along until after the kids went to bed. Jeff slept for a few hours while I paced around our bedroom, trying to keep contractions steady. Around 3am they suddenly got WAY more intense and close (like went from 10 minutes apart to 4 minutes apart really fast!) so we headed to the hospital. I got an epidural pretty quickly and was super calm. The only real hiccup was that when it was time to push, the doctor got me all set up, and then got called to another room for about 40 minutes. So by time he got back, the baby practically flew out of me!

Margot Noelle C, born at 10:50am on December 21st. 8lb 6oz, 20 inches long. She had the hugest cheeks and felt really wide around the chest when I picked her up after pushing her out. She got to lay on my chest for close to an hour before I finally let Jeff hold her, and then the nurses weigh her.

TONS of hair.

My mom brought the kids that afternoon to meet the baby. Jeff and I hadn't fully decided on the name, so we hurried and picked right before the kids got there.

We are so grateful Gramma could watch the kids and help out!

The next day was Christmas Sunday, so Jeff and I (and Margot) watched via zoom.

Felix singing with the Primary Children.

Axel singing with the Young Men and leaders.

Gramma and kids at the Linger Longer after church.

Margot all dressed to go home! The hospital gave us a cute holiday beanie.

She wasn't a fan of the carseat at first.

Home! I love that Ivy held the pretend ice cream cone the whole time, haha!

Those cheeks!

Late night sushi date at home! I finally can have sushi again!

Tried to get glamour shots. Didn't go so well.

Fluffy hair.

Ivy likes to help brush her hair.

Christmas Eve!

Christmas morning

Ivy got a life-like baby doll from Grandma J. It led to some confusing panicked moments until Margot got bigger than the baby doll.

Awesome train set

All dressed and ready for Christmas day.

Brennen and my parents came up for dinner Christmas day.

Julie was also able to come for Christmas.

Her swaddle's velcro was no match for her powerful legs.

Successful glamour shots.

Ivy and fake baby.

Nana and Papa were able to come out to help, so we celebrated Christmas day all over again.

Nana made quilts for all the kids!

Sleepy smiles.

Felix is obsessed with Margot.

Axel turned 12!

Ivy wearing ALL the fairy costumes at once.

The only piece of clothing that all 4 kids have worn! Go BYU!

Smiles for Mommy.

The lure of Nana's ipad.

Nana did this awesome hairdo for Ivy. Ivy finally has enough hair to do more creative things!

We had a really special Christmas with Margot joining our family. The best Christmas gift is a new baby.
